Like other homemade and DIY recipes, we recommend using distilled water for diluting your Thieves Cleaner concentrate. While you can use tap water in a pinch or for solutions you plan to use quickly, it can grow bacteria and mold over time. Optionally you can add some extra oils to your cleaning recipes, such as lemon or Citrus Fresh.

all-purpose cleaner

Combine 1 tablespoon Thieves Household Cleaner and 15oz distilled water in a 16oz spray bottle. 

 

degreaser

Combine 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner and 2 cups water. For heavy cleaning, use half or quarter the amount of water. If necessary, use a cloth to apply Thieves Household Cleaner undiluted. After cleaning, wipe the area with a cloth dampened with water.

 

glass and mirror cleaner

Combine 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner, 5 drops Citrus Fresh essential oil blend, 1 teaspoon white vinegar, and 3 cups water.

 

laundry prewash stain remover

Spray diluted Thieves Cleaner directly from all purpose cleaning bottle directly on your clothing as needed before washing. For extra tough stains, use a small amount of the concentrate undiluted. We recommend spot testing in an inconspicuous area first if you need to use the concentrate undiluted. 

 

tub scrub

Combine 1 cup baking soda, 3 tablespoons Thieves cleaner, 1 tablespoon water, and 5 drops of lemon oil. Apply, scrub and rinse!

 

carpet cleaner solution

Dilute 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner to 6 or more cups of distilled water.

 

tile and grout cleaner

Combine 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner with 1/2 cup of water in a spray bottle. Spray area and let sit for a few minutes. Use a small brush to clean.
