MAMA LIFE
for your little loves
We LOVE using our oils for our children, from tiny tots to big kids! Here's a sampling of our favorite oils for the littles, some amazing products, and field-tested tips & tricks for your little loves.
If you’re not familiar with using oils during pregnancy or with babies and children, we’ve got you covered.
preconception
While you’re trying to conceive, Progessence Plus is your BFF. This blend of oils plus wild yam extract, a natural progesterone, is excellent for balancing female hormones for all women. It’s especially helpful for optimizing fertility. You’ll love the aroma too! Apply a couple drops to your forearms or the front of your neck once or twice a day. Discontinue use during pregnancy unless directed by your provider to continue. Progessence Plus should only be used by females.
Shutran is a blend of essential oils formulated to optimize male health. With a base of Idaho Blue Spruce and other oils like Ylang Ylang, Coriander, Lavender, Black Spurce and more, you won’t be able to get enough of this one! It seriously smells SO good. This blend can be used by men or women. There is also an entire line of Shutran containing personal care products, such as soap and shaving cream. The Shutran Beard Oil is a favorite of mamas with curly hair! Try applying just a couple drops to damp hair.
pregnancy
Pregnancy + YL - we have so many favorites!! So much excitement, and sometimes anxiety and fear. So many changes. Just - so much in general! Here are solutions to some of the most common complaints we hear:
breakouts
Changing hormones can wreck havoc on your skin. Our favorite regimen for this: Orange Blossom Cleanser, the Acne Treatment for spots, and Manuka mixed into your favorite carrier oil at bedtime.
belly care
Give the Tender Tush ointment a try! Yes - it’s intended for baby bums. However, it’s full of skin loving oils like Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Roman Chamomile, Frankincense and more, in a base of coconut oil, cocoa butter, almond oil and beeswax. It’s pretty much the best thing ever!
If you prefer a DIY option, some diluted Gentle Baby, Roman Chamomile, or Frankincense/Lavender/Helichrysum are all great choices.
prepping for delivery
Pick up some Claraderm! This little spray bottle provides extra protection to the perineum to prevent tearing during delivery. Recommended to use daily 6-8 weeks or more before delivery. You can also use this postpartum to help with discomfort, swelling and promote healing as well. (Psst - this also makes a great belly spray!)
stress management
It’s so important to minimize stress during pregnancy, and so hard to do! Essential oils can help to ease your worries while you get some R+R. Some of our favorites to enjoy during this time are Stress Away, Lavender, Frankincense, Roman Chamomile, Gentle Baby, Tranquil and more. Enjoy!
labor and delivery
Whether you’re a birth plan gal or an on the whim mama, your oils can be so helpful during labor! Typical favorites like Lavender and Frankincense are always a good bet, but here are some other suggestions for more specific needs:
encouraging labor
Clary Sage and/or Jasmine. Apply to acupressure points for labor.
muscular pain
Aroma Siez, diluted and massaged into back or legs. Or, Ortho Sport Massage Oil.
nausea
Peppermint, Lemon, or Ginger. Inhale from the bottle, or put a couple drops on a washcloth or other item for mom to sniff as needed.
energy
Ningxia Red! Along with plenty of water and/or electrolyte containing solutions, plenty of Ningxia.
fear and anxiety
Frankincense, Valor, Release
birthing blend for diffusing
Lavender, Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Roman Chamomile
postpartum
Congratulations mama!! Whew - it’s a lot to take in. The first few days can be full of ALL the emotions. Stress Away + Joy to the rescue! These two blends can help you feel calm and joyful as you’re getting to know your new little one. Continue with your Claraderm if you have any soreness or healing that needs to happen. If you’re needing to encourage milk supply, Fennel and Basil can be helpful. You can make a roller with equal drops of each and apply to breasts avoiding the nipple, or ingest a few drops of one of these twice a day for 5 days. We recommend chatting with your doc or midwife about your personal situation!

seedlings
The Seedlings line of products are just for babies, and we are in LOVE. The Calm blend of oils in the Seedlings items contains Lavender, Coriander, Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, and Geranium, and it smells SO good. We've come close to duplicating the aroma of the blend, but we just can't quite get there.
gentle baby
A special shout out to Gentle Baby, a must have for every baby, mama, and mama to be! Use it on your belly while you're pregnant, and for your baby after delivery. Pro-tip: newborn babies can be super sensitive, but this is a great one to put on mom/dad and baby can benefit when being held!
rose ointment
This magical ointment will soothe even the most dry and irritated skin, and is perfect for all ages. Use Rose Ointment alone, or on top of any oil treated areas.
